# Provider promotions

Coindisco can display temporary provider-funded promotions for buy and sell transactions.

A promotion has:

* a provider;
* a buy discount, sell discount, or both;
* an expiry time;
* assets and regions for which the provider is available.

The user interface can show the discount as **No provider fee** or **Provider fee: -N%**. Expired promotions are not returned as active.

## How promotions affect offers

Promotions and True Fee are related but distinct:

* the promotion label describes the configured reduction in provider fee;
* True Fee compares the final effective quote against the market reference;
* the offer should be judged using the actual output amount and True Fee, not the discount label alone.

## Promotion availability

Promotions are temporary and depend on the provider, transaction direction, region, and selected asset. Coindisco applies active promotions to eligible offers automatically, so integrations should use the discount information returned with the offer instead of maintaining a separate promotion list.
