# What is Coindisco?

Coindisco is a crypto on-ramp and off-ramp aggregator. It connects multiple payment providers and presents their offers in a consistent interface, so users can compare price, payment method, availability, and verification requirements before continuing to provider checkout.

Coindisco supports three core transaction paths:

* **On-ramp:** buy cryptocurrency with fiat currency.
* **Off-ramp:** sell cryptocurrency and receive fiat currency.
* **Indirect purchase:** buy an intermediate asset and swap it on-chain into a token that an on-ramp does not sell directly.

## What Coindisco adds

Provider quotes are not compared by the advertised fee alone. Coindisco also calculates the effective rate against a market reference, exposes it as **True Fee**, and attaches contextual information such as:

* best price;
* best success rate;
* provider used before;
* reusable or simplified KYC;
* active provider discounts.

Availability depends on the transaction direction, country or region, asset, network, fiat currency, payment method, amount, and provider configuration.

Provider coverage and supported assets change over time. Use the [Availability and Reference](/coindisco/availability-and-reference/integrated-providers.md) pages or the API instead of relying on a fixed marketing count.
