# Buy crypto: On-ramp

An on-ramp converts fiat currency into cryptocurrency.

To find an offer, Coindisco evaluates the user's region, fiat currency, amount, payment method, requested asset, network, and the providers available for that combination.

## Typical flow

1. Choose a cryptocurrency and network.
2. Select a fiat currency and enter the amount to spend.
3. Select a payment method.
4. Enter or confirm the destination wallet address.
5. Compare the available provider offers.
6. Continue to the selected provider and complete payment and any required verification.
7. Track the transaction until the cryptocurrency is delivered.

The amount shown in a quote is an estimate at the time it is returned. Market movement, quote expiry, provider validation, or a change in the checkout inputs can cause the provider to refresh the quote.

## Choosing an offer

The first result is not the only useful result. Depending on the user's priorities, they may choose the lowest True Fee, a provider used before, reusable KYC, a preferred payment method, or a provider promotion.

See [Understanding offers](/coindisco/understanding-offers/offers.md) for the meaning of each indicator.
