# Sell crypto: Off-ramp

An off-ramp converts cryptocurrency into fiat currency. In Coindisco, this is shown as the **Sell** operation.

## Typical flow

1. Choose the cryptocurrency and network to sell.
2. Enter the crypto amount.
3. Select the fiat payout currency, region, and supported payout method.
4. Compare the available sell offers.
5. Continue to the selected provider.
6. Complete provider verification when required.
7. Send the specified cryptocurrency amount using the provider instructions.
8. Track the transaction until the fiat payout is completed.

## How sell offers differ

For a buy, a lower effective acquisition cost is better. For a sell, a higher effective payout is better. Coindisco calculates sell True Fee as the difference between the reference market value and the effective payout rate.

Sell availability can differ from buy availability for the same provider. Supported assets, networks, regions, payout methods, limits, and KYC requirements must therefore be evaluated for the sell flow independently.
